Ayesa India has been named the lowest bidder for the Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) contract for the electrical and mechanical (E&M) systems for the Indore Metro and Bhopal Metro Phase 1 projects.

The DDC contract, identified as BH-IN-21 by Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Co Limited (MPMRCL), encompasses 9 underground and 24 elevated stations within the following civil packages:

  • Bhopal Metro:
    • Orange Line: BH-03 (6 elevated stations) & BH-04 (2 underground stations)
    • Blue Line: BH-05 (13 elevated stations)
  • Indore Metro:
    • Yellow Line: IN-04 (5 elevated stations) & IN-O5 (7 underground stations)

The appointed DDC will be responsible for developing and proposing alternate designs for the electrical and mechanical works.

MPMRCL had invited bids for this consultancy service in September 2023, with an estimated budget of Rs. 15.07 crore and a contract duration of 4.4 years. Technical bids were opened in January 2024, with six bidders participating.

During the evaluation, bids from LKT – Lombardi JV and STUP Consultants – RINA Consulting JV were disqualified for not meeting the tender's technical conditions.

Financial Bid Values:

  • Ayesa India: Rs. 11.89 crore
  • Tata Consulting Engineers – LEAP JV: Rs. 11.95 crore
  • Ardanuy India: Rs. 11.99 crore
  • SYSTRA MVA Consulting (India): Rs. 14.92 crore

MPMRCL’s Brief Scope: Engagement of DDC for:

  • Electrical & Mechanical (E&M), Part Plumbing, Environmental Control System (ECS), Tunnel Ventilation System (TVS), SES/CFD Simulation & Building Automation System/SCADA system for Nine (09) Underground Stations, including Twin Tunnel, Cut & Cover, Cross-passages, Ramps
  • Electrical & Mechanical (E&M), Part Plumbing & Building Automation System for Twenty Four (24) Elevated Stations, including associated Viaducts for the Bhopal and Indore Metro Rail Projects

Ayesa’s bid of Rs. 11.89 crore is significantly below MPMRCL’s estimate of Rs. 15.07 crore, suggesting a contract award is likely in the coming weeks without a prolonged financial evaluation period.

Civil construction contracts have already been awarded for packages BH-03, BH-04, and IN-04. Technical evaluation for BH-05 is in progress, while bidding for Indore Metro’s 8.6 km underground package IN-05 is underway. The bid submission deadline is July 11, with technical bids opening on the same day.
